1. What do you sell and how did you get started?
My medium is jewelry. I started after the birth of my son 14 years ago. I decided to treat myself to a handmade necklace. When it arrived, I thought - I can make this! And the rest is history.

 2. Who or what is your inspiration?
Contempo Jewelry features nature inspired designs reflective of the lush landscape and colorful foliage of Central Pennsylvania. I specialize in wire working techniques incorporating precious metals, semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls into my designs.

I find manipulating wire to be extremely relaxing. The material can be very forgiving, while creatively allowing endless possibilities.

 4. What is your most favorite item in your Etsy shop?
My favorite items change weekly. I never get too attached to any of my pieces. I know each piece belongs to someone, but they haven't found it yet.

Mylana on Etsy

Take a minute to pamper yourself! Clare from Mylana has an assortment of soaps, candle and earrings.

1. What do you sell and how did you get started?
My name is Clare and I sell candles, soap, and jewelry; all handmade by me. My top selling item is candles, particularly votive candles. I got started in middle school when I bought a candle making kit at a church rummage sale. In high school, my mom worked for a company that made craft books and brought home some soap making books. I was smitten!

2. Who or what is your inspiration?
Many of my items and inspired by the online video game World Of Warcraft. I have been playing for 5 years, and I have a lot of unique scent blends inspired by people or places in the game.

3. What is your favorite part of your creating process?
I love taking the candles and soap out of the molds! Blending scents is also exciting.

4. Do you have any special routines?
The most important routine with my etsy shop is that it helps me stay active. I live a tad over a mile from the post office and every day, I check my sales and will walk my packages down to the post office. It gets me out the door and making etsy part of my exercise routine is good for my physical health, too!

5. What is your most favorite item in your Etsy shop?

I love this cafe mocha soy candle. The square jars are so cute.

7. Anything else that you want to share?
Etsy is unpredictable, you need to stick with it for the long term and not expect that you can spend all of your time creating items. If you want to make sales, you need to participate in the community and bring people into your shop. Try and work on something every day, changing a photo or adding a listing, if things get stagnant.

8. Are there any coupon codes or promotions you have going on?
Yes, TEAMBORO, coupon code, which stands for the Middle TN Etsy team, is good for 15% off any order before shipping. I recently added international shipping to my shop this month, too.

1) What do you sell and how did you get started?
I sell Rustic Wood Wedding Decoration and Home Decor items also made from wood. I began selling when my daughter who is a single of mother of 4 was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation.

Her health has made it to were she is limited on what she can do. So, I had to leave my job with Department of Corrections to stay at home and take care of here and to help raise my 4 grand kids. I needed something to do to keep my own self going and I have always loved working with wood. So I decided to start my own business.

My inspiration is the wood itself. Many people see branches and wood laying on the ground as throw a way or burning, I see it as beauty and what can be made out of it.

I love using the power tools and working in the shop.

Need ideas for Valentines Day?

I came across a shop that I found to be really unique. She is from England and is the owner and creator of GorjessJewellry. In her shop you will find some really great Valentine's Day gifts as well as everyday jewelry.

1. What do you sell and how did you get started?
At the moment I sell handmade silver jewelry  I occasionally work in gold. I started about two years ago with the help of my dad who used to be a Goldsmith. He made a family friend a really simple pendant of an otter and I asked him to help me make a present for my friend. I showed the finished product off to my other friends and then one by one people started ordering, then colleagues started, then customers at work... eventually I got busy enough to leave my day job!

2. Who or what is your inspiration?
I've always enjoyed art which is why I think I enjoy cutting out pendants so much, I hand cut them with a jewelry saw so the more fiddly it is the more I enjoy it.

3. What is your favorite part of your creating process?
My favorite part of jewelry making depends on how I feel, normally I enjoy cutting out all of the pendants, I find it relaxing. When I get to the polishing stage I sometimes find it hard work but then so rewarding at the end to see my shiny pendants.

4. Do you have any special routines?
I tend to work on a lot of orders at the same time, it seems more productive to cut out a lot and then polish a batch at a time, I find this helps me get most people's orders out quite quickly, a lot of my feedback is customers who are happy with the speed.

5. What is your most favorite item in your Etsy shop?
My favorite items are my puzzle designs as there are so many variations I can do with them, I think my favorite design to make though are the animal ones, unfortunately I haven't made too many yet but I look forward to getting some new animal designs out there soon.

I mostly use facebook at www.facebook.com/gorjessjewellery and have recently started on twitter at @GorjessDesigns, I aim to do the occasional giveaway on Twitter once I get a better amount of followers!

Thanks
