1. What do you sell and how did you get started?
I currently sell original acrylic paintings, soon going to expand to key chains and eventually greeting cards. I got started by first building my "inventory" of paintings. I sometimes would record myself while I painted and the uploaded them onto youtube. I started up a website, took forever to figure the "look" of it. I made a facebook ad, showing all to my friends and family, then when I was looking up for the best option for an artist to sell their work, Etsy became perfect for me.

 2. Who or what is your inspiration?
I love to create art whatever the medium, I just love to create a piece of work that I can share to everyone. Hearing about artists now'a'days you think of the "starving artist" which always worried me, I really got started with opening my shop after being inspirated from my college professor with him telling me how great my artwork is and that he really urged me to paint since the traditional "artist" are dying out. So then I decided to give it a try and when I try anything I give it my all.

 3. What is your favorite part of your creating process?
 My favorite part is when I'm actually sitting down in front of a canvas and letting the creative juices start to flow! This isn't a job for me this is where all my passion is and why I chose to continue with painting

 4. Do you have any special routines?
I do have a very special routine. A lot more goes into painting than anyone would think! First I buy/ make the canvases, add them to my canvas check off list after numbering them. There I check if its a finished painting or not, write it on this dry erase marker board for my husband to then go ahead and scan the image. patch it into photoshop. I then sign, paint the borders and then gloss the entire image. I also that the finished digital image of it and put it into etsy, facebook, my website and lastly pinterest. I then go ahead and get the canvas ready for hanging. Long process but I'd rather do it right! plus this keeps me very organized which is soooo important! =]

5. What is your most favorite item in your Etsy shop?
My most favorite item is "In Her Shoes" it is a simple piece yet it conveys and tells such a story yet its such a simple ideal. That you cant truly understand someone without first walking in their shoes, well in this painting these are my shoes.

7. Anything else that you want to share?
Just that I'm a new to the motherhood, I have a now 8 month old boy. Still going to college at the Illinois Institute of Art Chicago, and working a job at a Library. So I have alot on my plate but I still somehow find the time to do what I'm passionate about- Creating Art.

1. What do you sell and how did you get started?
I sell unique handmade led electronic gadgets, jewelry, crab and snail figurines and hand-painted t-shirts.I actually started my business on etsy. A co-worker told me about etsy and we started our shops together.

2. Who or what is your inspiration?
Nature and science. My glow product lines came from a gift I had made for an ex a long time ago. And my glow product creation process came from one of my thesis projects when I was doing my MFA. You can see it here: www.anncernoch.com/Images/Infinity_Gliders2_upclose.jpg

 3. What is your favorite part of your creating process?
My favorite part is when the piece is complete. That moment when I switch a glowheart or pixel on and test that the led is still working properly. That also works for my jewelry and figurines, when they are complete and I look them all over and see everything is exactly where I want it to be. Best feeling ever.

 4. Do you have any special routines?
My glow products are created in an assembly line type of way. I prep the plastic hearts, then do the electronics, then assemble...then when the orders come in,  customize them.
The polymer clay products are more intensive so they are done individually.

5. What is your most favorite item in your Etsy shop?
That is a very very difficult question! I love all my products. If I had to pick just one, I would have to go with my GlowHearts. They are just so much fun to watch. I never get tired of testing them in my dark bathroom. :)

1) What do you sell and how did you get started?
 I sell Rustic Wood Wedding Decoration and Home Decor items also made from wood. I began selling when my daughter who is a single of mother of 4 was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation.

Her health has made it to were she is limited on what she can do. So, I had to leave my job with Department of Corrections to stay at home and take care of here and to help raise my 4 grand kids. I needed something to do to keep my own self going and I have always loved working with wood. So I decided to start my own business.

2)Who or What is your inspiration? 
My inspiration is the wood itself. Many people see branches and wood laying on the ground as throw a way or burning, I see it as beauty and what can be made out of it.

3) What is your favorite part of your creating process? 
I love using the power tools and working in the shop.

4) What is your most favorite items in your shop?
 I love them all, but I do like my birch wood candle holders. The natural white wood is gorgeous.

1. What do you sell and how did you get started?

 At the moment I sell handmade silver jewelry  I occasionally work in gold. I started about two years ago with the help of my dad who used to be a Goldsmith. He made a family friend a really simple pendant of an otter and I asked him to help me make a present for my friend. I showed the finished product off to my other friends and then one by one people started ordering, then colleagues started, then customers at work... eventually I got busy enough to leave my day job!

2. Who or what is your inspiration?
I've always enjoyed art which is why I think I enjoy cutting out pendants so much, I hand cut them with a jewelry saw so the more fiddly it is the more I enjoy it.

3. What is your favorite part of your creating process? 

My favorite part of jewelry making depends on how I feel, normally I enjoy cutting out all of the pendants, I find it relaxing. When I get to the polishing stage I sometimes find it hard work but then so rewarding at the end to see my shiny pendants.

4. Do you have any special routines?
I tend to work on a lot of orders at the same time, it seems more productive to cut out a lot and then polish a batch at a time, I find this helps me get most people's orders out quite quickly, a lot of my feedback is customers who are happy with the speed.

5. What is your most favorite item in your Etsy shop?
My favorite items are my puzzle designs as there are so many variations I can do with them, I think my favorite design to make though are the animal ones, unfortunately I haven't made too many yet but I look forward to getting some new animal designs out there soon.
